Prophet Mohammed first talkedabout al-Aqsa Mosque as ‘Miraj ‘incident in his Night Journey episode; a visionof the journey revealed to him in 622CE [Quran CH 17; Sura Isra]. The incidentintroduced revelation about the “Farthest Mosque (Al-Masjid-ul-Aqsa) to thebelievers, the mosque was built 55 years after the death of Muhammad. Without intervention of any Godlypower, it was utterly impossible for Muhammad to visit the mosque physically ina 3/4 hour window on his Night Journey duration.
When the Arabs conqueredJerusalem in 637CE, they found the Temple Mount abandoned and filled withrefuse. `Umar Ibne Khattab ordered it to be cleaned and he performed a prayerthere. The two Islamic shrines were built afterwards; (1) The Dome of the Rock built by Caliph `Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan around72/691 CE, and (2) The al-Aqsa mosque proper, built at the end of the 7thCentury.
Re-cap: The Temple of Solomon had been completelydestroyed in 70 AD/CE; Prophet Mohammed’s Miraj (Night Journey) occurred in 622AD (twelfth year of Muhammad’s mission); Mohammed died in 633CE. Jerusalem conquered by Arabs in 637CE, in 691 AD Caliph Abd’ Malik began building two Islamicshrines (Dome of Rock and al-Aqsa mosque). Solomon’s Temple didn’t existed atthe dawn of Islam, and it never provided anymore any better solution fordispute regarding building mosque in that spot.
Another strong evidence:at around 622 CE, Jerusalem was not in the hands of the Muslims reign, andrather it was on Christian’s hand. Therewas no Mosque of any type in that place (not even a church). The Dome ofthe Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque (both are on the site of Solomon’s Temple whichhad been destroyed A.D. 70 by the Romans (a long time ago). Mohammed death occurredapproximately 600 years after Solomo’s Temple destruction event. The rummagewas in no way had any connections with Muslims, because Islam was founded morethan 560 years of that time. Building of the two shrines were resumed roughly53 years after the death of Prophet Muhammad. That’s a recorded history Muslimsin general feel proud of. Behind this journal was my feeling of proudness firstbut also my curiosity for I wanted to know why there’s a continuous fighting inthat place among Muslims, Jews and sometimes Christianity followers and whystill today blood is shredding from Muslim (Palestinian’s) body. In thisjournal I collected every single bit of information and justified the messagewith history books, rare speeches, articles etc. If you care about history, truth and have any feelings for religious events: read this book please. Youwill no longer be biased for any particular group. Every followers of allreligions have equal rights to feel proud of their history and live peacefullyin this world.
